How to Create and Link an Azure DevOps Work Item from a BoldDesk Ticket

Updated:

Use this guide to create an Azure DevOps work item directly from a BoldDesk ticket—without leaving the Agent Portal. You’ll open the ticket, launch the Azure DevOps app, and submit the core fields (Organization, Project, Work Item Type, Area Path, Title, Description). When you click Create, BoldDesk automatically links the new work item back to the ticket so both support and engineering can track the same issue in one place; the integration’s configuring agent is set as the reporter by default. After creation, the linked work item appears in the ticket view for quick navigation and ongoing collaboration.

How to Create Azure DevOps Work Item in a Ticket

To seamlessly create Azure DevOps work items within BoldDesk, you can follow these steps to establish a connection between Azure DevOps and BoldDesk:

  1. Open the ticket where you want to create the Azure DevOps work item and click Apps in the right sidebar to open the apps list.

  2. Search for and select Azure DevOps.

  3. Click Create Work Item.

  4. Fill in the necessary details for the Azure Work Item, such as Organization, Project, Work Item Type, Area Path, Title, and Description.

  5. Click Create to create a new work item.
