Installing and Configuring the Asana Integration
The Asana integration in BoldDesk enables support teams to collaborate with product and engineering by linking tickets to tasks, viewing key task details on the Ticket page, and optionally syncing comments, status, and priority between systems. Configuration is performed entirely in the BoldDesk Admin interface and enforced by Roles & Permissions.

Install and configure Asana app in BoldDesk
To install the Asana integration, follow these steps:

Click Admin -> Marketplace.

Search for and select Asana app.

Click Install.

Choose a Workspace from the list and map the associated Projects.

Select the Actions to be executed when a BoldDesk event occurs or vice versa.

App permissions allow you to manage access to integrated applications within your organization. You can control who can read, modify, and use applications based on roles.

Configure Sync Actions
You can control the syncing of data between Asana and BoldDesk by selecting actions.
Comments Sync
When you add a private note or update the status/priority of a ticket, you can select an action to add a comment to the Asana task and vice versa.

The data from the selected projects can only be linked and synchronized with BoldDesk tickets.

Can I restrict which projects agents can link to tickets?
Yes. Only mapped projects are available for linking or task creation. -
Can I enable comments sync without syncing status/priority?
Yes. Comments Sync, Status Sync, and Priority Sync are independent toggles. Enable only what you need. -
Can all agents configure the Asana app?
No. Only users with Manage setting permission can change app configuration. Agents typically receive Read/Use. -
Are unmapped projects visible to agents?
No. Agents will only see projects that are mapped. Unmapped projects and their tasks remain inaccessible from BoldDesk.
