How to Set the Language for AI Assist in BoldDesk

BoldDesk’s AI Assist adapts to the language set in each agent’s profile, switching the portal and AI Assist to that language. There’s no direct setting to choose the language AI Assist uses. This setting is agent-specific, allowing individual preferences without impacting others. Agents can update the language for themselves, or administrators can update language preferences on behalf of the agents.

How Agents Set Their Preferred Language

  1. Click on your Profile Icon and select View Profile & Settings to access the personal settings page.

  2. In the Localization Setting section, select the desired language from the Language field’s dropdown options.

  3. Press Update to apply and save the updates.

How Admins Configure Language for Other Agents

  1. Go to the Admin Center, then select Agents to view the list of agents.

  2. Click on the agent’s name to open their profile page.

  3. In the top-right corner, click Edit.

  4. Find the Language field and choose the preferred language from the list.

  5. Click Update to save your changes.

  • For any agent to select a preferred language among the supported languages, the multi-language feature must be enabled.
  • Only agents with the Admin > Manage Agents permission enabled are able to configure the language settings for other agents.

FAQs

1. Can I directly change the AI Assist language?
No. AI Assist uses the language defined in the agent’s profile. There is no standalone language setting for AI Assist.

2. Does changing my language affect other agents?
No. Language settings are per-agent and do not impact other users.

3. Will AI Assist automatically translate content?
AI Assist responds in the language set for the agent’s profile. It does not automatically detect or switch languages independently.

4. Who can enable multi-language mode?
Only administrators with appropriate permissions in the Admin Center.

5. Do I need to refresh the portal after updating my language?
In most cases, changes take effect immediately. A manual refresh may help update interface elements faster.
