AI Copilot Will Require a Paid Add-on – What You Need to Know

The AI Copilot feature in BoldDesk is currently available at no cost during the promotional period ending Jan 19, 2026. After this date, AI Copilot will be offered as a paid add-on, and free access will no longer be available.

From Jan 20, 2026 onwards, AI Copilot will transition to a paid add-on, and pricing will take effect.

The AI Copilot functionality is offered exclusively as an add-on for the Momentum and Enterprise plans.

What’s Changing for AI Copilot Access

All AI Copilot seats that were provided during the free access period will be automatically removed. As a result, agents will no longer have access to the following AI Copilot features:

  • AI Copilot Response Generator
  • Ticket Summaries
  • Content Enhancement (Rewrite text, correct grammar, expand text, or shorten text to improve communication quality.)
  • Multilingual Support (Translate text into multiple languages instantly.)
  • KB Article Generation
  • Article Summaries
  • Article SEO Optimization

To continue using AI Copilot, you must purchase the AI Copilot add-on. After purchasing AI Copilot seats, ensure that the seats are assigned to the appropriate agents to restore access to AI Copilot features.

Important Note

Even if an agent already has a valid BoldDesk agent seat license, AI Copilot will not function unless a Copilot agent seat add-on is purchased and assigned to that agent. To continue using AI Copilot, please purchase the required Copilot agent seats and assign them to the appropriate agents.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I already have 10 active agent seats, and AI Copilot was working earlier. Why is it not working now?

AI Copilot was available for free until Jan 19, 2026. If it is no longer working, it means:

  • Pricing has taken effect from Jan 19, 2026, and
  • A paid Copilot agent seat add-on has not yet been purchased or assigned.

Do I need to purchase AI Copilot seats for all agents?

No. You only need to purchase AI Copilot agent seats for the agents who require Copilot access. Administrators can choose which agents receive Copilot seats based on usage needs.

Can I purchase fewer Copilot seats than my total agent seats?

Yes. AI Copilot seats are independent of agent seats. You can purchase any number of Copilot seats, as long as they are assigned to active agents.

What happens if I don’t purchase the Copilot add-on after Jan 19, 2026?

If you do not purchase the Copilot add-on:

  • All previously provided free Copilot seats will remain removed.
  • AI Copilot will not be available to any agent.
  • Your regular agent workflow will continue without Copilot assistance.

Will my existing agent seats be affected if I don’t buy Copilot?

No. Your existing BoldDesk agent seats remain unchanged. Only AI Copilot functionality is impacted.

Can I purchase Copilot seats later if I don’t need them immediately?

Yes. You can purchase AI Copilot agent seats at any time after Jan 19, 2026 and assign them to agents whenever needed.

Can Copilot access be reassigned between agents?

Yes. Administrators can remove Copilot access from one agent and assign it to another, as long as the total number of assigned Copilot seats does not exceed the purchased count.

Does AI Copilot work automatically once seats are purchased?

No. After purchasing Copilot seats, an administrator must explicitly assign the Copilot seat to each agent who should have access.

Is AI Copilot included in any BoldDesk plan by default?

No. From Jan 19, 2026, AI Copilot is available only as a paid add-on and is not included by default in any BoldDesk plan.
