  • Any new ticket created via email will be considered as a suspended email.

  • A contact that has been soft deleted cannot be re-added. However, if a contact is permanently deleted, the user can be added again as a contact. For further details please explore How to Add and Edit Contacts.
  • When a contact is permanently deleted in BoldDesk, all tickets requested by that contact are also permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. If the contact is later re-added, the system treats them as a new contact, and their previous tickets do not get restored or linked to the new profile.

Permission for Deleting a Contact

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1: What is the difference between soft delete and permanent delete?
A: Soft delete moves the contact to the deleted folder. Permanent delete removes the contact entirely from the system.

Q2: Can I restore a permanently deleted contact?
A: No, but you can re-add them manually as a new contact.

Q3: What happens to tickets when a contact is deleted?
A: You can choose to mark associated tickets as spam. If restored, you can remove them from the spam list.

Q4: How many contacts can I delete in bulk?
A: Up to 50 contacts per bulk delete operation.

Q5: Can you enable bulk delete specifically for verified contacts in BoldDesk?
No. There is no separate setting in BoldDesk that enables or disables bulk delete only for verified contacts. Bulk delete works the same way for all contact types — verified or unverified. What actually controls the ability to bulk-delete is permissions, not verification status.

Q6: In BoldDesk, how do you prevent tickets from being deleted when deleting the contact who created them?
In BoldDesk, tickets are deleted only when a contact is permanently deleted. To prevent tickets from being removed, avoid permanently deleting the contact. Instead, use one of the following approaches:

  • Reassign tickets to another contact: Before deleting the contact, use the Bulk Update feature to change the requester to another (or duplicate) contact. Once reassigned, the original contact can be safely deleted without affecting the tickets.
  • Soft delete the contact: This removes the contact from active use while retaining all associated tickets. The tickets are moved to spam and can be restored. If left in spam for more than 30 days, they will be permanently deleted.
