How to link Jira issue with ticket?

Link the tickets with existing Jira issues by searching the issue key, which allows you to access issue details within BoldDesk. Linking helps the support team stay up to date with the progress of the customer-reported issues.

Follow the given steps to create a connection between a Jira issue and the BoldDesk ticket:

  1. Navigate to the ticket to be linked and click Apps in the left sidebar. Then open the Jira Software app.

  2. Click Link Task and type the Jira issue key, then click search. The matched issue will be displayed.

  3. Select the issue to link with the ticket.

  4. The linked issue will be displayed as shown in the following.

  5. After linking the Jira issue, you can see more details by clicking the respective issue card.

  6. Click Add Attachments to choose files from the list of files already attached to the ticket.

Files from external storage services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox won’t be listed in the attachment section.

How to unlink Jira issue from ticket?

  1. Click the Unlink option in the respective linked issue to remove the connection between the Jira issue and ticket.

  2. Select the Unlink button to confirm.

A single Jira issue can be linked to multiple tickets. However, a single ticket cannot be linked to multiple Jira issues.

  1. How do I search for a Jira issue to link with a ticket?
    Open the ticket and use the Jira app within the Apps panel to search directly from the ticket view. You can query by an exact issue key (e.g., ECS-201); matching results appear in the panel so you can pick the correct one and link it immediately.

  2. Can I view Jira issue details from within BoldDesk?
    Yes. After linking, click the linked issue card inside the ticket to open and view additional Jira issue details.

  3. Can I attach BoldDesk ticket files to a linked Jira issue?
    Yes. Use Add Attachments in the linked issue section. Only files already uploaded to the ticket will appear—files from external storage (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox) won’t be listed.

  4. Can a single BoldDesk ticket be linked to multiple Jira issues?
    No. A ticket cannot be linked to more than one Jira issue. However, the same Jira issue can be linked to multiple BoldDesk tickets.
