How to Translate Dropdown Options, Status & Priority Values to Support Multiple Languages

If you have enabled Multilanguage support in your BoldDesk, you can customize your dropdown option values for all the languages enabled in the portal.
For example, if a user’s preferred language is French while the default language of the organization is English, all dropdown option values can be displayed in French for that respective user for the fields mentioned below.
- Priority
- Status
- Dropdown (single-select and multi-select)
Priority
To translate the Priority values, follow the given steps:
- Navigate to Admin Module -> Ticket Fields -> Priority
- Click on the Priority Field and navigate to the details page of the Priority field.
- Select the language in which you want your dropdown option values to be translated.
- When translating a list of priority values, you can utilize the Export and Import method for the translation process.
- If a priority value has been previously translated into French, the translated content will be displayed in the French Content column.
- Click the Export option to download the priority values as an Excel file.
- You can update the equivalent translated content for the priority values in the Excel file and import it using the import feature.
- The file size can be a maximum of 10MB.
- During the import of an Excel file, if attempts were made to update some translated values with empty cells, the blank or empty values will not be applied to any priority values upon import.
- To delete the translated priority value, you can utilize the Edit feature to remove the translated value.
- You can use both Import/Export or Edit action to update the translated priority value.
Status
To translate the Ticket Status values, follow the given steps:
- Navigate to Admin Module -> Ticket Fields -> Status
- Click on the Status Field and navigate to the details page of the Status field.
- Select the language into which you would like your status values to be translated.
- When translating a list of Status values, you can use the Export and Import method for translating Status Labels.
- If a Status Label has already been translated into French, the translated content will be displayed in the French Content column for the corresponding Agent Label and End User Label.
- By clicking on the Export option, the status will be downloaded in the form of an Excel file.
- You can update the equivalent translated content for the Label for Agent and Label for End User statuses in the Excel file and import updated content using the import option.
- The file size can be a maximum of 10MB.
- When importing an Excel file, if attempts are made to update the translated Label for Agent and Label for End User with empty cells, the blank/empty values will not be applied to any of the priority values during the import process.
- To edit the translated Label for Agent and Label for End User for ticket statuses, you can use the Edit option to update the translated labels.
- You can update the translated Labels for ticket statuses by utilizing both Import/Export or Edit actions.
Note: The Label for Agents must not contain duplicate values, while the Label for End Users permits duplicate values.
Other Dropdown Option Values
To translate the dropdown option values, follow the given steps:
- Go to Admin Module
- Select the dropdown field from the respective module such as Ticket or Contact or Contact Group Module.
- The dropdown option values can be seen in the list provided below, as stated.
- Select the language in which you want the dropdown option values to be translated.
- When translating a list of dropdown option values, you can use the Export and Import method for translating option values.
- If a value for any option has been previously translated into French, the translated content will be displayed in the French Content column.
- By clicking on the Export option, the values from the dropdown menu will be downloaded as an Excel file.
- You can update the corresponding translated content for the option values in the Excel file and import it using the import option.
- The file size can be a maximum of 10MB.
- If you have already translated the majority of option values and only a few or newly added option values remain untranslated, you can utilize the “Show only untranslated” option. Then, simply repeat the Export and Import process for the remaining content that needs translation.
To Edit the Translated option values, follow the given steps:
- Click on the Action icon by choosing the respective language from the dropdown above.
- When you click the Action icon, the corresponding translation for the selected option value can be updated.
- The Edit option can be utilized not only to update an existing translated value but also to modify an untranslated value if necessary.
