How to Translate Fields and Forms to Support Multiple Languages
If you have enabled Multilanguage support in your BoldDesk, you can customize the field labels for all the languages enabled in the portal.
For instance, if a user has a preference for the French language, and the default language of the organization is English, all field labels can be displayed in French for that specific user, according to their language preference.
Check out this video tutorial for more details.
To translate the fields and forms, follow the given steps:
- Kindly navigate to Admin Module -> Language -> Language Translation
- The Language Translation Tab will be accessible only when Multilanguage is activated in your tenant…
- Choose the Language you want to translate from the dropdown displayed.
- In the Fields tab, you can choose the Module for which you are going to update translated values.
- You can use the Export option to export all the field labels in an Excel format.
- Update all the translated labels for the fields in the respective column and use the Import option to update all the translated labels for the fields.
- Once the translated content is updated, you will receive a success message in the form of a toast notification.
- To display and export only the untranslated field labels, simply tick the Show only untranslated checkbox. This will ensure that only untranslated content is listed and exported.
Note : If any of the column names are altered/changed before importing the exported file, the import will not return the result as expected and may return an error.
You can also edit a single field by following the given steps:
5. Click on the Edit icon by choosing the respective language from the dropdown above.
- On clicking the Edit icon, a pop-up will appear prompting you to provide translated content for the Label for Agent Portal, Label for Customer Portal, and Note Message for each corresponding field.
- The Edit option allows you to update not only the existing translated labels for a field, but also the translated value if it remains untranslated.
