FAQs
1) Is article sorting configured globally or per category?
This procedure configures sorting from the category edit page, so the setting applies per category.
2) What should I choose if I need a custom manual order?
Select Position, then reorder articles using the manual reorder workflow: Explore How to Reorder Articles and Sections in the Agent Portal.
3) Does this feature automate any workflows (triggers, notifications, or rules)?
No. This is a display/order configuration for Knowledge Base articles.
4) Do I need to enable any admin setting to use article sorting?
No additional admin setting is described in the source. Article sorting is configured directly from the category edit page.
5) What happens to article order if I switch from Position to a date-based sort (Created/Modified/Published)?
The list will follow the newly selected sort field and direction. The source does not describe whether a previously configured manual “Position” order is preserved for later reuse.
