How to Manage Article Tags
Tags are labels that can be attached to articles. Tags are powerful features that can be used for categorization or filtering. In the Admin Center, there is a module available to manage tags.
Options are available to
- Create a tag
- Rename a tag
- Remove a tag
Tags List
The tag list table contains a list of all tags of an organization irrespective of the articles. All tags created by a user are listed in the admin module. You can find the number of articles associated with a tag in the table.
Filtering articles by a tag
To filter your articles by a tag,
- Click the articles count in the Tags module.
- Navigate to the articles list page in the Knowledge Base module.
- Filter the articles by the name tag.
Creating a tag
To create a Tag,
- Navigate to the Create Tag menu.
- Enter the name tag.
- Click the Create button to create a new tag.
Renaming/Editing a tag
To edit or rename a tag,
- Navigate to the Edit Tag menu.
- Edit or rename the name tag.
- Click the Update option to save the changes.
Note: The edit tag option allows you to edit the tag’s name in all places. Thus, the articles associated with the tag will be changed.
Deleting a tag
To delete a tag,
- Navigate to the Delete Tag menu.
- Select the article you need to delete.
- Click the Yes, Delete to permanently delete the tag.
Note: Deleting a tag will completely remove the tag from the associated articles.
Using tags in the KB module
Tags can be used in different ways in the KB module. The following are some examples of using tags in the KB module.

You can set a tag while creating an article.

After creating an article, you can also add a tag using the Settings page.
Searching for an article by tags
Search support can filter an article by using tags.
Note: An agent must have a role with Manage Tags permission enabled for accessing the tags module.
To restrict new tags creation and removal of existing tags from an article, you should enable the related permission checkbox in the Knowledge Base module as shown in the following screenshot.
