How to Reset BoldDesk Password for Agent and Customer Portals

BoldDesk supports password resets from the login page using Forgot Password. An admin can also send a verification/reset email to an agent or contact.

When the Forgot Password Link is Available

The Forgot Password link appears on the login page only when Form login is enabled.

The Forgot Password option displays only if the Form login is enabled. You can also reset other personal login details like Facebook or Microsoft by accessing your account and resetting your password.

Reset Password From the Agent Portal Login Page

  1. Open the BoldDesk Agent Portal login page: https://yourdomain/agent/

  2. On the login page, select Forgot Password.

  3. Follow the prompts to request a password reset email and complete the reset using the link in the email.

Reset Password From the Customer Portal Login Page

  1. Open the BoldDesk Customer Portal login page: https://yourdomain/

  2. On the login page, select Forgot Password.

  3. Follow the prompts to request a password reset email and complete the reset using the link in the email.

Reset Password Email

Contact your admin to send an email for the reset password. The following is a screenshot which illustrates how an admin can help you reset your password.

For Agent

  • Navigate to Agents listing page and click on more option on the agent you want to verify.

  • Click on Send Verification Email.

  • Navigate to Contacts module and click on more option on the contact you want to verify.

  • Click on Send Verification Email.

Kindly be aware that the password reset link remains valid for 72 hours from the time it is sent.

Why Did the Agent or Contact not Receive the Email Notification for Password Reset?

Ensure the email notification events are enabled for agents and contacts.

FAQs

1) Why is the Forgot Password link missing on the login page?
The Forgot Password link displays only when Form login is enabled. If Form login is not enabled, BoldDesk does not show the Forgot Password option.

The password reset link remains valid for 72 hours after it is sent.

6) Why did the agent or contact not receive the password reset email?
Confirm that email notification events for password reset/verification are enabled for agents and contacts. If notifications are enabled and email is still not received, contact [email protected].

7) Can users reset passwords for other login methods (Facebook or Microsoft)?
Yes. Users can reset other personal login details (such as Facebook or Microsoft) by accessing the account and resetting the password.
