How to Publish the Same KB Articles Across Multiple Brands

Updated:

If you manage multiple brands in BoldDesk and want to avoid duplicating Knowledge Base (KB) content, you can use a single KB category to publish the same set of KB articles across more than one brand. When you associate a KB category with multiple brands, any KB article linked to that category inherits the category’s brand visibility. This means the brand visibility is controlled at the category level, and the articles automatically follow the category’s brand selection.

Create a new KB category

To create a new knowledge base category, do the following:

  1. Open the KB module.

  2. Select Create.

  3. Select Category.

  4. Enter the category details required.

Brand inheritance behavior (category to article)

  • Applies automatically: After the category is saved with selected brands, any article later linked to the category becomes visible under all selected brands.
  • No per-article re-selection required: The brand association is applied through the category linkage.

Link KB articles to the multi-brand category

After the category exists:

  • Link relevant KB articles to the category.
  • The KB articles inherit the category’s brand visibility, making the KB articles available in each of the selected brands.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How can I publish the same KB articles across multiple brands without duplicating them?
Create one KB category, associate that category with multiple brands, then link your KB articles to that category. The linked articles inherit the category’s brand visibility, so the same articles become available under each selected brand.

  2. Where do I select multiple brands for a KB category?
You select multiple brands from the Brand dropdown on the Category creation screen. After selecting one or more brands and saving the category, that brand visibility applies to articles linked to the category.

  3. Do I need to select brands again when linking articles to the category?
No. Brand visibility is applied through the category linkage. Once the category is associated with multiple brands, any article linked to the category automatically becomes visible under all selected brands, without needing per-article brand selection.
