How to Reauthenticate Instagram in BoldDesk

Instagram access to BoldDesk can lapse after token expiry, password changes, or updates to Page permissions. Use this guide to reauthenticate your account and resume message syncing without losing history.

Follow the given steps to reauthenticate Instagram in BoldDesk:

  1. Sign into BoldDesk

  2. Go to Admin → Chat → Instagram and click View Accounts.

  3. In the accounts list, click Reauthenticate for the Instagram account you want to renew.

  4. When prompted, Log in with Facebook (or click Continue as if you’re already signed in).

  5. Choose how you want to proceed:

    • Reconnect — quickly renew the connection using your current selections and permissions (recommended).
    • Edit previous settings — change businesses, Pages, or Instagram accounts if needed.

  6. Select the business(es) you want BoldDesk to access and click Continue.

  7. Select the Facebook Page(s) linked to your Instagram and click Continue.

  8. Choose the Instagram business account(s) to use with BoldDesk and click Continue.

  10. Review the permissions BoldDesk requests (message access, comments, pages, etc.) and click Save to grant access.

  11. Click Got it to finish. The account status should show Connected in BoldDesk.
