How to Replicate a KB Article: A Step-by-Step Guide

The Replicate article feature allows you to display a single article across multiple categories or sections. This improves content organization, accessibility, and user experience while streamlining knowledge base management.

Create replicate article

Follow the given steps to create a replicated article under the Manage Articles or Articles section.

  1. Select the KB module from the left menu.
  2. Go to Manage Articles or Articles section in the KB module.
  3. In Manage Articles or Articles section, the More Options menu includes an option to replicate the article.

  1. Alternatively, you can replicate the article by navigating to the article details page.

  1. Select the Replicate Option. After selecting it, a pop-up box appears, allowing you to add categories/sections to replicate the article.
  2. Choose the appropriate categories/sections and click the Update button.

Once replication is successful, the success message is displayed as shown in the below image.

The article will appear in the respective category/section page.

  1. In the Manage Articles section, replicated articles are differentiated by a replicate symbol displayed on the left side.

View replicate article

Follow the given steps to view the replicated article details,

  1. To view the articles replicated in the Manage Articles, select any category or section where the article has been replicated from the More Options menu.

  1. Alternatively, you can view the details of a replicated article by navigating to the Articles section in the Knowledge Base and selecting View Replicate from the More Options menu.

  1. Also, there is an option to View Replicate Details on the Article Details page.

  1. Select View Replication Details. A pop-up will appear on the page to show the replicated category/section details.

  1. In the view reference page, you can see the category title, section title, replicated by, and replicated time.

Remove replicate article

Follow the given steps to remove the replicate article details under the Manage Articles or Articles section.

  1. To remove the replicated article, go to Articles section and click the View Replication. The article replicated details will be displayed in the pop-up. Click the Remove icon on the right side.

  1. Alternatively, go to Manage Articles and select any category/section where the article is replicated.
  2. Click the More Options menu on the right side of the article and select Remove replicate.

  1. Additionally, the Article Details page includes an option to remove the replicated article.

  1. A pop-up will appear. Click the Yes, Remove button.

  1. Once the replication removal is successful, a success message will be displayed.

Customer portal

If an article is replicated in any category or section, it will appear alongside other articles in the section tree view of the customer portal.

Note:

  • To replicate within a category, select the category alone.
  • To replicate within a section, select the section alone.
  • An article cannot be replicated to the category/section where it was originally created.
  • An article cannot be replicated again to categories/sections where it has already been replicated.
