How to Create and Manage Custom Widget
Custom widgets are important for bringing together insights from different modules into one organized dashboard. These widgets show key performance metrics in formats like numbers, charts, tables, and pivot tables. By customizing the dashboard with various widgets, agents and managers can see all essential data in one place, making it easier to track performance, analyze trends, and gain near real-time insights that enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. This article explains how to create, edit, clone, and delete various types of widgets in a dashboard.
Creating a Widget
Widgets can be created in a dashboard using the following methods:
- Using a Blank Widget
- Using Widget Templates
Note:
1. You can add up to 12 widgets to a single dashboard.

Using Blank Widget
Widgets can be added to the newly created dashboard or by editing an existing dashboard as mentioned below.
Case 1: Add Widget to a New Dashboard
- Go to the Reports module and open the new dashboard.
- Click the Add Widget button in the top-right corner or in the center of the page.
Case 2: Add Widget to an existing dashboard—Using Edit Mode
- Open the dashboard where you want to add a new widget.
- Click Edit and then Add Widget.
- Select the Create New option to create a widget.
- Enter the widget title and description (optional).
- Select the module and widget type.
- Based on the widget type selected, fill in the related fields that appear.
- On the left side, a preview will be displayed based on the widget settings with real-time data. Configure the widget’s settings, then click Add to insert it into the dashboard.
Using Widget Templates
- Go to the Reports module and open the dashboard.
- Click the Add Widget and select the preferred templates from the list based on the selected module.
3. In the Add Widget dialog, configure the widget’s settings, then click Add to insert it into the dashboard.
Editing a Widget
To edit a widget in the dashboard, follow the given steps:
- Go to the Report Module.
- Open the dashboard you want to update and click Edit.
- Select the widget you want to edit and click More Action (⋮), then select Edit.
4. In the Edit Widget dialog, make the necessary modifications. Afterward, click the Update button to save the changes.
Cloning a Widget
To clone a widget in a dashboard, follow the given steps:
- Go to the Reports Module.
- Open the dashboard to be updated and switch to Edit mode.
- Select the widget you want to clone and click More actions (⋮), then select Clone.
4. In the Clone dialog, modify the widget name, chart type, or other fields as needed. Then, click the Clone button to clone the widget.
Copying a Widget
The copy widget action allows you to copy the widget to another dashboard. Follow these steps to copy a widget:
- Go to the Reports module and select Custom dashboards from the view list.
- Open the dashboard and click Edit.
- Find the widget you want to copy and select Copy from its More actions (⋮) menu.
- Select the Destination Dashboard from the dropdown menu and click Copy.
When you copy a widget, the following actions will occur:
- A new widget will be added to the selected destination dashboard.
- The current widget will remain unchanged in this dashboard.
- Only dashboards you can edit will appear in the Destination Dashboard list.
Moving a Widget
Moving a widget transfers it to another dashboard. To move a widget, follow these steps:
- Go to the Reports module and select Custom dashboards from the view list.
- Open the dashboard and click Edit.
- Find the widget you want to copy and select Move from its More actions (⋮) menu.
- Select the Destination Dashboard from the dropdown menu and click Move.
When you move a widget, the following actions will occur:
- A new widget will be added to the selected destination dashboard.
- The widget will be removed from its current dashboard.
- Only dashboards you can edit will appear in the Destination Dashboard list.
Deleting a Widget
To delete a widget in a dashboard, follow the given steps:
- Go to the Reports Module.
- Open the dashboard to update and switch to Edit mode.
- Select the widget you want to delete. Click the More option (⋮) and select Delete.
4. In the Delete Widget dialog, click the Delete button to remove the widget from the dashboard.
