Export and Email Live Chat Conversation Transcripts

Agents can export or email live chat conversation transcripts.
Note: Private notes are excluded in both exported files and emailed transcripts.
Exporting a Conversation
To download a conversation as a text file:
- Open the chat conversation you want to export.
- Click the Export icon at the top of the conversation panel.
- A
.txt
file will be downloaded automatically.
Emailing a Transcript
Transcripts can be emailed to either the requester (customer) or yourself (agent).
Note: Images and attachments are included as downloadable links in the email.
To the Requester
- Open the conversation.
- Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Select Email Transcript to Requester.
- The transcript will be sent to the customer’s registered email address.
To Yourself
- Open the conversation.
- Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Select Email Transcript to Myself.
- The transcript will be sent to your registered email address.
Required Permissions
To export or email transcripts, agents must have the following permissions enabled in
Admin > Roles and Permissions > Chat:
- Export Conversation – Allows downloading conversations as text files
- Email Transcript to Self – Allows sending transcripts to own email
- Email Transcript to Requester – Allows sending transcripts to the customer
