Export and Email Live Chat Conversation Transcripts

Agents can export or email live chat conversation transcripts.

Note: Private notes are excluded in both exported files and emailed transcripts.


Exporting a Conversation

To download a conversation as a text file:

  1. Open the chat conversation you want to export.
  2. Click the Export icon at the top of the conversation panel.
  3. A .txt file will be downloaded automatically.

Emailing a Transcript

Transcripts can be emailed to either the requester (customer) or yourself (agent).

Note: Images and attachments are included as downloadable links in the email.

To the Requester

  1. Open the conversation.
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Email Transcript to Requester.
  4. The transcript will be sent to the customer’s registered email address.

To Yourself

  1. Open the conversation.
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Email Transcript to Myself.
  4. The transcript will be sent to your registered email address.

Required Permissions

To export or email transcripts, agents must have the following permissions enabled in
Admin > Roles and Permissions > Chat:

  • Export Conversation – Allows downloading conversations as text files
  • Email Transcript to Self – Allows sending transcripts to own email
  • Email Transcript to Requester – Allows sending transcripts to the customer
