How to Create a Contact Without Sending Activation or Verification Emails in BoldDesk
BoldDesk can send activation and verification emails when a contact is created. To create a contact without sending these emails, temporarily disable the Contact Activation and Contact Verification notifications before adding the contact.
This article explains how to disable the applicable notifications, create the contact, and restore the notification settings afterward.
Prerequisite
Before creating the contact, ensure that your role includes the permission to Manage email notification and templates.
Disable Contact Activation and Verification Emails
To disable the applicable contact notifications:
-
Go to Admin > Email Notifications.
-
Open the Contact tab.
-
Turn off Contact Activation.
-
Turn off Contact Verification.
-
Restoring these notification settings affects subsequent notification events. Enabling the settings again does not automatically send the previously disabled emails to the contact created while the notifications were turned off.
-
When notifications are disabled, customers will not receive email alerts when a contact is created. However, to grant access to the Customer Portal, the contact’s user account must be manually verified. This step ensures secure access and proper activation. For detailed instructions on how to manually verify a contact, learn How to Verify a Contact Manually.
-
BoldDesk also offers the option to configure email-only support, allowing customers to communicate exclusively via email. This setup eliminates the need for portal access, enabling users to create and follow up on tickets directly through email. To learn more about setting up email-only support, explore How to set up email-only support and hide the Customer Portal.
