How to Link a User to an Activity in BoldDesk
Linking a user to an activity keeps ownership, context, and follow‑ups clear—so the right person is visible on the activity timeline and in related ticket or contact views. In BoldDesk, you can do this either after the activity is created (by linking the user from Linked Items) or upfront while you create or edit the activity (by setting the Contact on the form). Use the first method when you’re reviewing an existing activity and need to associate it with someone, and the second when you already know the correct user during creation or while updating the activity.
Follow the given methods to link a user to an activity.
Link a User from the Activity Details Page
-
Open the activity details page you want to link a user to.
-
In the right sidebar, under Linked Items, select Link User.
-
In the dialog that appears, search for the user and select them to link to the activity.
Set or Change the Contact on the Activity Form
-
Open the Create Activity form from any supported location—for example, from the global Create feature (Create → Activity), from a ticket’s Activities tab (Create Activity), from a contact’s Activities tab (on the contact profile), or from a live chat conversation’s Activities tab (Create Activity).
-
In the dialog, scroll to Contact.
When you create an activity from a ticket’s Details page, BoldDesk automatically fills the Contact field with the ticket’s Requester.
-
To change the contact:
-
Click the Contact field.
-
Search for the user you want to link.
-
Select the user to confirm.
-
Result: The activity will be linked to the selected user.
