Enable Email Forwarding in Outlook

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to enable email forwarding in Outlook to automatically redirect messages from one email address to another.

  1. Before proceeding, please make sure that you have followed the steps outlined in the
    How to Configure Support Email Channel article to add custom support email address to BoldDesk. Additionally, ensure that you have copied the forward email address provided by BoldDesk.

  1. Log in Microsoft 365 Outlook Web with your custom email used in BoldDesk. Then, open Settings by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner.

  1. Please navigate to the “Mail” settings and locate the “Forwarding” section. Once there, kindly click on “Enable forwarding” and insert your BoldDesk forward address. We also recommend selecting ‘Keep a copy of forwarded messages’ to ensure you retain copies of forwarded emails for your records. Afterward, please click “Save” at the bottom of the screen and close the window.

Note: Please be aware that if you encounter bounce messages after setting up the forwarding, it might be due to Microsoft 365 spam protection blocking automatic forwards for your organization. In such cases, kindly reach out to your Microsoft 365 administrator and direct them to the How to Enable the External Forwarding in M365 instructions for the necessary steps.
