Below are the primary reasons for frequent re-authentication:

  • Adding a new Instagram profile: To add a new Instagram profile to the existing list of accounts, the user must re-authenticate to enable the profile to send and receive messages.

  • Accidental de-selection: If a user accidentally removes an Instagram profile previously linked to a messaging channel during authentication, the profile’s permissions will be revoked, preventing message sending.

  • Incorrect account selection: If a user fails to select the desired Instagram account for messaging during authentication, they must reauthenticate to select the correct Instagram account.

  • Access token expiration: After 60 days, the Instagram access token expires automatically, necessitating re-authentication to generate a new one.
