What is the Difference Between Verified and Unverified Users
In BoldDesk, a verified user is someone (Agent or Contact) whose email address has been confirmed as authentic by the system.
This verification occurs automatically when a user logs into the BoldDesk portal for the first time. Users can also use verification emails to complete the verification process, and this can also be completed manually by an administrator on behalf of the users.
Refer to this article to learn how contacts are manually verified.
Benefits of verifying users:
- Protects Email Reputation
- Ensures Authenticity
- Streamlines Support Processes
- Enhances Communication Security
An unverified user refers to someone who has not yet logged in, or whose email address has not been manually verified. They cannot access their tickets through the customer portal until they are verified.
Unverified users can create tickets via email, receive email notifications for their tickets created and updates.
Unverified users can also respond to these notifications via email to post an update on the tickets.
How to Verify Users
Based on the permissions given, Agents can manually verify a user’s email address on their behalf or send them a verification email to complete the verification process.
In addition to manual and email verification, BoldDesk also supports user verification through its API, offering a flexible and automated approach to user verification. Refer to this BoldDesk API document to learn more.
