Automatically Set a Custom Date Field with the System Date

Use automation rules in BoldDesk to automatically adjust custom date field with the current system time when specific conditions are met. You can use create and update ticket trigger rules enabling accurate timestamping of rule execution events. For more details on creating a custom date field, please refer to this article.

Configuring a Rule to Set a Date Field Based on Rule Execution Time

  1. Navigate to the Admin module > Automation.
  2. Choose either Create Ticket Triggers or Update Ticket Triggers, depending on when you want the rule to run.
  3. Click Add Rule and provide rule name and description.
  4. Define the conditions required to trigger the rule.
  5. In the Actions section, select the date field to be updated, and choose Execution Date.
    You can adjust the date by specifying a positive or negative value in the  Days  field.
  6. Click Update to save the rule.
