Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Agents in BoldDesk

Published:

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to BoldDesk by requiring agents to provide two forms of identification before accessing their account. This feature is now available for all BoldDesk agents and can be enabled individually by each agent or enforced by an admin for all agents.

Enabling 2FA for Individual Agents

  1. Log in to your BoldDesk account.
  2. Navigate to your Personal Settings.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click Enable.

Once enabled, you will be required to provide a second form of identification, such as a code generated by an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, each time you log in.

Enforcing 2FA for All Agents

As an admin, you can enforce 2FA for all agents to ensure the security of all accounts. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your BoldDesk account as an admin.
  2. Navigate to Admin Settings.
  3. Click the Agent Portal option.
  4. Go to the Login tab.
  5. Select the Enforce two-factor authentication (2FA) for all agents option.

Once this setting is enabled, all agents will be required to set up and use 2FA each time they log in.

Please note that this 2FA feature is only supported for BoldDesk form logins. It is not applicable for social or custom SSO logins.
