How to Delete Multilanguage Knowledge base articles
BoldDesk supports multilingual Knowledge Base (KB) articles, allowing organizations to manage content across multiple languages. When articles become outdated or irrelevant, authorized users can delete them using the Knowledge Base module.
This article explains how to delete:
- Primary language articles
- Translated (secondary language) articles while the Multilanguage option is enabled.

Deleting primary articles
To delete primary articles in your knowledge base, follow these steps:

Navigate to the KB (Knowledge Base) module from the left menu.

Click on the language drop-down list and switch to the primary language of your knowledge base.
The following are the options available to delete the articles:

Articles Listing Page: Use the Select All checkbox at the top to select all articles, or check individual articles you wish to delete. Then click the Delete option.

Sections/Articles Listing Page: Use the Select All option at the top, or individually check each article and click Delete.

Article Details Page: Click an article to view its details, then select the Delete option.
After clicking Delete, a confirmation dialog box will appear as shown below:
Confirm the deletion by clicking the Delete button.
When a primary article is deleted, all translations of that article will also be deleted.
Deleting translated articles
If you need to delete articles that have been translated into other languages, follow these steps:

Navigate to the KB module on the left menu.

Click the language drop-down list and switch to the secondary language of the article you wish to delete.

To delete an article, use the Select All option at the top, or individually select each article in the below-mentioned pages and click the Delete option.

After clicking Delete, a confirmation pop-up will appear with a checkbox asking if you want to delete the article in all languages as illustrated below:
- To delete the article in all languages, tick the checkbox and click Delete.
- To delete the article in the selected language only, leave the checkbox unticked and click Delete.

Can I delete only one translated version?
Yes. You can delete a translated article for a specific language only. -
Can deleted articles be restored later?
Yes. When an article is deleted in BoldDesk, it is moved to the Deleted Articles section and can be restored from there. Articles are only permanently removed when the Delete Forever option is used. Once an article is deleted forever, it cannot be restored.
