How to Upgrade or Downgrade an Active Plan
This guide walks you through updating your BoldDesk subscription—including changing your plan, switching between monthly and yearly billing, and understanding how charges are applied. You’ll see where to find the Billing & Subscription portal, how to review plan options, and what happens to your billing when you upgrade, downgrade, or change cycles.

Follow these steps to change your plan:

Go to the Admin Center.

Click the Billing and Subscription option to open the billing and subscription portal.

On the active subscription page, click the Change Plan option. The change plan dialog will be shown.

Select the desired plan and click Continue to choose the billing cycle.

Select the desired billing cycle and click Continue.

Review the following details in the summary section and click the Update button.

Subscription – This amount will be deducted from the next billing cycle for the subscription.

Total due today – This is the prorated amount for the subscription updates for the remaining period of the current cycle, which will be deducted immediately.

Payment card – Today’s due amount will be deducted from this card.

Agent downgrades, plan, and billing cycle changes will be reflected in the next billing date.
If the default card has 3D Secure enabled, then you will be asked to complete an additional verification step with the card issuer to process the payment.
A pop-up will be shown with an authentication page on the card’s bank’s website, and requires you to enter a password associated with the card or a code sent to your phone.
If the subscription plan is upgraded and today’s due payment is authorized, the subscription change will be applied immediately.

1) Where do I change my BoldDesk plan or billing cycle?
Go to the Admin Center → Billing and Subscription → on the Active subscription page, click Change Plan. Then select your plan and Monthly or Yearly billing, and proceed.
2) How are charges applied when I update my BoldDesk Plan subscription?
You’ll see a Summary showing:
- Subscription – The amount billed on your next billing date.
- Total due today – The prorated charge for the remainder of the current cycle, billed immediately.
- Payment card – The card charged for today’s due amount.
3) When do upgrades, downgrades, or billing cycle changes take effect?
- Upgrades: Applied immediately once today’s payment is authorized.
- Downgrades and billing cycle changes: Take effect on the next billing date.
4) Why am I asked to verify my card when updating?
If your default card has 3D Secure enabled, a pop‑up will prompt you to complete verification (password or one‑time code) on your bank’s page to authorize the payment.
