How to Delete and Restore a Contact

How to Delete a Contact
To delete a contact, follow the steps below:
- Open the contact profile and select the Delete button.
- Open a dialogue box to mark tickets associated with the contact as spam by selecting the Mark associated tickets as spam option and then click Delete Contact. The contact will then be moved to the deleted contacts folder.
Once a contact is deleted, you will receive a notification for successful deletion.
Soft Deleting Bulk Contacts
You can use the “Bulk Delete” option to delete all your contacts in bulk.
- Choose the Select All checkbox and click the Delete option as highlighted in the following screenshots.
- In the delete dialog, click the Delete button. After clicking the Delete button, the selected contacts will be soft deleted.
- You can delete a maximum of 50 contacts in bulk.

The Consequences of Deleting a Contact
- Once you delete a contact, they will lose access to the support portal and won’t be able to create or view any tickets.
- Any new ticket created via email will be considered as a suspended email.
How to Restore a Contact
To restore a contact, follow the steps below:
- Open the deleted contact profile and click the Restore button.
- A dialog will appear where you can restore the spam tickets by selecting the Remove associated tickets from spam option and then click Restore Contact.
- A contact that has been soft deleted cannot be re-added. However, if a contact is permanently deleted, the user can be added again as a contact. For further details on adding contacts, please refer to this article.
- When a contact is permanently deleted in BoldDesk, all tickets requested by that contact are also permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. If the contact is later re-added, the system treats them as a new contact, and their previous tickets do not get restored or linked to the new profile.
